FAQ
Questions About Military & Veteran Therapy?
Do I need to have experienced combat or trauma to seek therapy?
No. Military members and veterans may seek therapy for many reasons, including stress, relationships, career transitions, anxiety, mood concerns, or personal goals. Combat experience or a trauma diagnosis is not required to explore care.
Can military spouses or family members receive therapy at OPAL?
Individual therapy may be appropriate for some military-connected family members. Whether OPAL is a fit depends on the person’s needs, age, clinician scope, and availability. Couples or family therapy should not be assumed, and the team can clarify what is available during a consultation.
Does OPAL accept TRICARE or VA benefits?
OPAL is in-network with Aetna, Cigna, and UnitedHealthcare. TRICARE or VA coverage and authorization should not be assumed. Our Insurance & Fees page explains current payment options, and the team can help clarify what verification is available.
